Jack

Founder and leader of SormoRock, Jack Ponissi is a professional Hammond Organ player and composer.

Originally born in Turin, Italy,in a musical family, he started performing professionally in 2011. Between 2013 and 2018 Jack moved Berlin and kept performing there and abroad, teaching and taking part in recording sessions in the meantime.

Since 2018 Jack's base of operations is again Turin.

Virtual Recording Studio

Jack Ponissi has been managing the demo recording studio Chain Reaction Music in Berlin since 2014, where he has recorded and collaborated with several musicians from all kinds of backgrounds. Chain Reaction Music has now been rebuilt in Turin on the premises of the old Ponissi studio 2.

In addition of the physical setup, Jack has a virtual recording studio that allows him to record audio tracks in collaboration with musicians from all over the world, through the internet.

This means that you could have him add organ or other instrumentation on your record without needing to organize a recording session in a dedicated studio and without even having to meet in person or live on the same continent.

On Stage

Live music is where a musician's soul is, therefore Jack Ponissi performs as a freelancer on every kind of stage, from big festivals to semiacoustic situations, from the 8-piece rockband to solo shows, from styles such as Blues to the Progressive Rock, doing both cover material and original music.

Over the years he has led SormoRock formations in Italy and Germany, he has also performed with countless bands and artists in several European cities, he has also had the occasion of playing with musicians such as Geoff Whitehorn, Martin Barre and Clive Bunker.
